The Historic St. John’s Church in Ohio City was once a stop in the underground railroad, helping to transport fleeing slaves to Canada.
Now it’s the site of an event to combat another type of slavery — human trafficking. Runway Freedom — a Multicultural Fashion Show is a fundraiser hosted by the Renee Jones Empowerment Center to help raise awareness of human trafficking both in our community and around the world and to promote cultural diversity. The event includes fashion, music and appetizers. Tickets are $25.
