Environmental Activist Erin Brockovich Speaks at KSU Stark Campus

Tue 9/13 @ 7:30PM

How many of us are lucky enough to have our life turned into a movie and see ourselves played by Julia Roberts? Researcher/environmental activist Erin Brockovich did!

While working as a legal clerk in California, she built a case against powerful utility Pacific Gas & Electric for groundwater contamination in a small town. She worked with an attorney to bring a successful lawsuit, which led to the 2000 film Erin Brockovich. Since then she’s hosted several TV series and worked as a consultant and researcher, with a focus on environmental pollution.

She was scheduled to speak at Kent State University’s Stark County campus in April as part of its Featured Speakers Series, a program now rescheduled for Tuesday September 13. She’ll speak at Timken Great Hall at KSU’s Stark Conference Center. It’s free and open to the public but tickets are required and must be picked up at the Office of Student Services, 132 Main Hall, from 8am-7pm Monday and Tuesday, and 8am-5pm Wednesday through Friday. Tickets from April won’t be honored; you must get new tickets.
