Once again, the city of Kent is looking to liven things up with some more public art.
The owner of a building at 716 North Mantua Street is looking to enhance it with an artist-created mural on the north-facing side. So the Kent Public Art Board, submissions is currently soliciting submissions for a design from artists living in Kent or with a connection to the city. Potential themes faces, natural elements, optical illusions and creating portals, although other ideas are welcome, as long as they include no logos or other commercial elements. Maximum size is 16 x 18 feet. Material costs will be paid for by the building owner and the artist will be paid.
