Two Area Musicians Lift Their Voices to Praise Underappreciated Innovators

Wed 11/17 @ 7PM

This week, the BOP Stop launches a new concert series called Lift Their Voices, described as “a community program to expand awareness of the artistic and societal innovations made by historical figures from marginalized communities whose contributions are too often underappreciated.” They’ll be shared in classrooms, and through podcasts and livestreamed concerts. Teaching artists from Cleveland’s Roots of American Music (ROAM), who use music to teach about a variety of historical and cultural issues, will focus on these innovators and how they overcame challenges to achieve what they did.

The opening concert will feature singer/songwriter/guitarist/keyboard player Morgan Mecaskey, who has worked with many area other musicians in a variety of formats, and singer/songwriter Liz Bullock, who is also a board-certified music therapist at University Hospitals.

Tickets are $15. You can also listen to the livestream on the BOP STOP’s Facebook page. It’s free but you can make a donation here.
