Enjoy Art, Music, Food & Drink at Walkabout Tremont

Fri 6/10 @ 5-10PM

Summer is the ideal time to hit the monthly Walkabout Tremont, and this week’s weather — moderate temperatures and no rain — promises to be a good time to do that.

All along the neighborhood’s main drag, Professor Avenue, you’ll find pop-up vendors and street performers. And the kids will be delighted to see Dr. U.R. Awesome, returning to blow his giant bubbles they can chase down.

While some have bemoaned that Tremont isn’t the art neighborhood it used to be, there’s signs that’s coming back. The relative newcomer Kaiser Gallery is opening a new show called Handful of Dream-Dust, a solo show featuring the work of Jonah Jacobs, with a reception @ 6-9PM. And Barb Merritt’s 818 Studios on the second floor around the corner from Fahrenheit is closing The Big Show, featuring oversized prints of work by 15 diverse local photographers.

The neighborhood’s many eateries and drinkeries have specials for this evening, so you’ll want to come early or stay late to enjoy them. And while most of the action’s on Professor, take advantage of the nice night to explore some of the area’s other nooks and crannies. Go here for more info.
