Just a few years ago, the nonprofit art gallery, Waterloo Arts, in North Collinwood’s Waterloo Arts district, launched a new benefit event called the Art of the Ornament. The one-night show features ornament-sized artworks made and donated by local artists. Visitors (and online bidders) can then bid on the ornaments, silent auction-style at the event on Friday December 2 from 6-9pm. All bids start at $10.
All artists living in northeast Ohio are invited to submit handmade ornaments no larger than can comfortably hang from a tree branch — they recommend no larger than the palm of a hand. They should also be hang-able when you drop them off. To submit an ornament, register at this link, then drop off your donation at the gallery on Thursday Friday or Saturday @ noon-4pm by Saturday November 12.
