Versatile vocalist Carol Leslie is Scotland’s gift to Cleveland. A long-time Cleveland resident, she’s been a regular in area clubs such as the BOP STOP, performing beloved classics from the Great American Songbook, as well as contemporary pop and R&B tunes. Her diverse influences include Ella Fitzgerald, Cleo Laine, Sarah Vaughan, Barbra Streisand, Diana Ross and Frank Sinatra, and even Lady Gaga.
Her most recent CD, Live at the BOP STOP, showcases her strength: live renditions of tunes such as Billie Holiday’s “Fine and Mellow,” Rodgers & Hammerstein’s “Oh, What a Beautiful Morning,” the Beatles’ “We Can Work It Out” and the sultry bossa nova hit from 1964, “The Girl from Ipanema.”
She’ll be back at the BOP STOP with her big bag of tunes across all eras, backed by a small ensemble of talented local players: pianist Edward Ridley Jr., bassist Jeff Slater, guitarist Joseph Rangel drummer Ricky Exton.
