From virtually the time the Cleveland Museum of Art opened — more than a century now — the Print Club of Cleveland has existed to help build the museum’s print collection through purchases and gifts and to encourage interest in print collecting. One of the ways it does so is through its Fine Print Fair, now in its 39th year when it returns this weekend.

The weekend kicks off with its Collector Night benefit preview Thursday April 25 from 5:30-7:30pm giving serious print lovers the first opportunity to buy prints from the fair’s dealers, while enjoying drinks and munchies. In addition the Print Club is raffling off a print to raise still more money for its mission.

On Friday through Sunday, the Fine Print Fair, taking place in the Ames Family Atrium, is free and open to the public to browse offerings from 15 dealers from around the country as well as from northeast Ohio, chat with the dealers about their offerings (most of them love to talk about prints and printmaking so don’t be shy about asking questions!) and take in demonstrations about printmaking. Visitors will find prints made by a variety of processes, contemporary as well as vintage prints, and at a wide variety of prices from affordable to collectible.
