Fri 2/12 @ 11AM-8PM
We’re seeing surveys showing that people’s expectations for what their significant other will do for them for Valentine’s Day have been lowered, thanks to the pandemic. But if you’re one of those people who still thinks you’d like to do something special for them, the artists and businesses of 78th Street Studios are ready to help with their “All About Love”-themed event Friday February 12.
At least 15 businesses and studios will be open, many for the entire day, so between long hours and the huge size of the building there’ll be plenty of time and space for social distancing (and masks are required for entry). Pick up a unique landscape painting from Eileen Dorsey, a calm-inducing, nature-based item from Susie Frazier Showroom, something retro from Googie Style/Dave Crider Designs, or a heart-adorned mask from Yellowcake Shop. Galleries such as HEDGE, E11ven2, RampArts, Gallery + and Kenneth Paul Lesko will be open for browsing, and you can drop in on the studios of Dawn Tekler, Bruce Buchanan and Eric Rippert to buy work directly from the artist.
And if you want to give your sweetie a special picture of yourself, Extraordinaire Photos will be doing portraits in Suite 215.
While it’s free to shop, they’re urging people to register so that they can keep a handle on crowd size. Go here.
