Obama Speechwriter Shares His Stories at the Happy Dog

Thu 5/3 @ 5:30-7:30PM

Every president, no matter how eloquent (yes, it’s easy to forget the days that presidents could be eloquent!) has speechwriters. Some have major input into their speeches; others don’t. And some, such as Barack Obama, can make a speech come alive y their delivery.

David Litt was in the right place at the right time when he joined Obama’s campaign in 2008 while still a student at Yale. In 2011, at the age of 24, he joined Obama’s speechwriting team, working his way up the ladder to become a senior speechwriter until his departure in 2016 to become head writer/producer for Funny or Die.

He’s written a memoir (who hasn’t!) called Thanks, Obama: My Hopey Changey White House Years. He’ll be at the Happy Dog in Gordon Square to talk about his experiences.

It’s free but registration is encouraged.
