What’s a great way to show art in these pandemic times? Put it on the street! Murals have popped up all over town in he last several years, including in North Collinwood’s Waterloo Arts District. But now, the entire street has been turned into an art gallery by multiple artists. The display, dubbed “Inside Out,” was put together by Pop Life Universe, Contrast High and Culture Jock.
Follow the symbols painted along the sidewalk, to see the displays on storefronts and walls, many of them addressing the current heightened awareness of injustice and inequality. Don’t miss the display in the window of Waterloo Arts of the wonderful photos of the neighborhood’s people by Stephen Bivens, who passed away month ago. Best of all there are n0 “gallery hours.” You can walk down the street and check it out anytime.
