Like many performing arts groups, Verb Ballets isn’t quite ready to return to performances before live audiences. But dancers gotta dance. So this weekend they’ll be presenting a virtual program called “Contemporary Creations,” featuring works by nationally noted choreographers.
The company will premiere World of Another by Chicago-based choreographer Stephanie Martinez, along with a new company work by Chinese choreographer Liu Mo that incorporates Chinese classical dance and acrobatics into ballet. Finally, it will present Love Is …, staged by former Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater member Christopher L. Huggins for the company.
Tickets are $25 or $10 for students. After the performance’s premiere, it will be available to stream for 48 hours.
