Sat 1/16 @ noon-3PM
When Liz Maugins launched the Yards Project three years ago at Worthington Yards Apartments in the Warehouse District, one of the goals was to acclimate people to living with work made by local artists, give them opportunities to interact with artists and get them interested in buying the art for their own living spaces. The ground floor public space of Worthington Yards is a gallery with rotating exhibitions, while the upstairs corridors are also lined with art.
For Open Yards II, which opens at Worthington Yards Saturday January 16 with gallery hours from noon to 3pm, Maugins has picked the work of more than 50 regional artists who are part of the portfolio she offers to potential art buyers. And once the show closes in March, the work will be on permanent display in another residential building she’s been filling with art — the new Tinnerman Lofts at 2048 Fulton Road.
