Spring and fall are the big seasons for arts and cultural organizations big annual fundraisers/galas. And most of those fell off the calendar along with the groups’ regular seasons and their ticket sales.
So these groups have been pivoting to virtual fundraisers to raise what they can and hopefully keep moving forward after the pandemic. One of these is the Cleveland Pops Orchestra’s evening, streamed from the backyard of the group’s director Carl Topilow, “utilizing state of the art, multi-camera streaming, bringing you right into the action,” they tell us He’ll lead the Cleveland Pops Jazz Ensemble, for an evening of both music and conversations with Topilow and the other musicians, so guests can get to know them a little better.
