A busy weekend for ethnic events kicks off on Thursday at the St. Wendelin Church parking lot with a Slovak concert & book launch.

Folk/bluegrass band A Good Band Is Hard to Find will be providing the music — no word on whether they know any Slovak tunes. And making the evening into a real festival, there’ll be food trucks, a beer garden and free ice cream! St. Wendelin is located in the Duck Island neighborhood on the edge of Tremont and Ohio City.
