Wild Winter Lights Returns to Cleveland Metroparks Zoo

Tue 11/14-Sat 12/30

Are you still recovering from the Asian Lantern Festival at the Cleveland Metroparks Zoo which closed in mid-September? It’s time now to go back to the Zoo and ooh and aah over a new showcase of lights when Wild Winter Lights opens this coming week.

The display will feature more than a million and a half lights arranged in holiday-themed areas such as Enchanted Forest and Santa’s Workshop. And two new musical light shows, one around a 50-foot tree and a show directly on Waterfowl Lake. Visitors can also enjoy carousel rides, talk to costumed characters, and check out model train displays and ice carvers. And kids (and grown-ups) will have the opportunity to have their photos taken with Santa.

There’ll be seasonal treats to enjoy as well such as hot chocolate, Jack Frost Donuts and flavored popcorn by Kernels by Chrissie. And kids (and grown-ups) will have the opportunity to have their photos taken with Santa.

Once again, visitors have the choice of taking in the display on foot or in their own vehicle as a drive-through experience on certain days. In fact, the first two days — Tuesday November 14 and Wednesday November 15 —are drive-through days. Walk-through days start on Thursday November 16.
