Akron Musician Zach Announces New Release with his Band The Bright Lights

Zach Friedhof, Akron’s musical avatar of peace and good vibes for more than two decades, has announced his latest release, this one with his band The Bright Lights (he has also released many solo albums in an acoustic/folk vein). Called Automagical, he says the 15-track album has been in the works since the fall of 2017 but has “undergone many transformations and rebirths.”

Automagical is an experience of the magic in the everyday, the pure amazing that exists in each moment, wherever we are,” he says. “It is a reminder that curiosity and wonder, and magic are the very nature of life.”

The album was recorded at Akron’s Rialto Theatre by Nate Vaill, who also mixed and mastered it. In addition to Friedhof himself on vocals and guitar, the album features bassist Neil Keating, drums, Drew Thornberry, electric guitarist Charlie Trenta, keyboard player Michael Marotta and Chris Hass on keyboards and slide guitar.

The album is available wherever you stream music; you can also access it from his website: zachmusic.net. He also has a limited CD version available which you can inquire about at zachmusic@gmail.com.
