Musician/producer Anthony “Scrote” Bundini knew that, even after the original creator passed away in 2016, audiences were still hungry for the unparalleled, diverse, creative, theatrical music of David Bowie. That was the genesis of Celebrating David Bowie, which he founded, drawing on a variety of Bowie friends and colleagues, and noted musicians who are also Bowie fans.
He’s toured the show to 17 countries on five continents, with appearances by musicians such as Sting, the Harlem Gospel Choir, Gary Oldman, Def Leppard’s Joe Elliott, Perry Farrell of Jane’s Addiction, Duran Duran’s Simon Le Bon, Fee Waybill and more, including Todd Rundgren, who’ll be part of the ensemble when Celebrating David Bowie comes to Akron’s Goodyear Theater.
Joining Rundgren and Bundini will be former Bowie guitarist Adrian Belew, Royston Langdon of Spacehog, Fishbone’s Angelo Moore and Jeffrey Gaines, with sax player Ron Dziubla, Narada Michael Walden bassist Angeline Saris, and session/touring touring drummer Michael Urbano who has performed with Lindsey Buckingham and Sheryl Crow.
“Fronting the show with revered innovators Todd and Adrian is an incredible honor, says Bundini. “We’re looking forward to unleashing a three guitar attack for an epic ride fueled with songs for every Bowie fan.”
