WRUW’s Studio-A-Rama Is Looking for Band Submissions

Sat 10/7

Look for some changes this year as Case Western Reserve University radio station WRUW 91.1 FM celebrates the 35th anniversary of its free, outdoor, all-door concert Studio-A-Rama — and the station’s own 50th anniversary.

For one thing, the date has been moved back to Sat 10/7 instead of its usual September date to coincide with CWRU’s homecoming weekend. And the location has been moved from the courtyard behind the Mather Building where WRUW’s studios are located to the plaza outside MOCA Cleveland’s building a block south.

What hasn’t changed is that event will feature a national headliner, Sweet Spirit, and two local regional sub-headliners, New Bomb Turks and This Moment in Black History, along with seven to nine local/regional acts. The station is accepting submissions from acts who’d like to play — any genre, but leaning toward rock of all types — through Fri 7/21. Send three song s, bank line-up and bio, band photo, website and contact address to WRUW-FM, Attention: Studio-A-Rama, 11220 Bellflower Road, Cleveland OH 44106 or electronically to studioarama@wruw.org.

As usual, the entire concert will be simulcast on WRUW and streamed online. MOCA Cleveland will be celebrating five years in its current building on the same day with free admission to the galleries.
