Update: Rising American pianist Maxim Lando replaces Czech pianist Jan Bartoš, who is unable to perform due to an illness.
Czech pianist Jan Bartoš is 41, and he’s already acquired an international reputation, performing with orchestras and in chamber and solo settings. He’s especially well known in Europe and in his native Czech Republican, he’s the director of two music festivals. But he’ll be making his Cleveland debut this weekend as part of Tri-C’s Classical Piano Series, taking place at the Cleveland Museum of Art’s Gartner Auditorium.
His program will focus on composers from his country including 20th-century composer Miloslav Kabeláč, and two of his better-known predecessors, Leoš Janáček (1854-1928) and Bedřich Smetena (1824-1884).
The performance is free and open to all but tickets are require. Go here to reserve them.
