78th Street Studios Third Friday Is Back, Both Virtually & Live

Fri 2/19 @ 5-8PM

While 78th Street Studios’ Third Fridays aren’t the jam-packed elbow-the-elbow events they used to be — crowd sizes have been limited since they resumed last spring — they forge ahead with many of the resident galleries, students and businesses open for visitors, musicians returning to the halls and even a small number of the outside vendors in the marketplace put on by Northcoast Productions.

This month, you can again hear Carrie King playing French street music on her accordion, as well as guitarist Colin John, an Ohio native who’s lived in Memphis, England and Hawaii, playing Hawaiian blues. And the Rock Hall’s Joy Van will be in the parking lot once more cranking out the tunes for people coming and going from the building. More than two dozen businesses and artist studios will have their doors open, including E11even2, which is debuting a new curatorial partnership with artists Jared Gepperth and Celeste Stauber, who will oversee its schedule of 201 shows.

All visitors must enter through the main entrance where masks will be available for those who forgot theirs; hand sanitizer stations are located through the building. Admission is $5, which can be applied toward any purchase. And if you don’t feel comfortable coming out just yet, join 78th Street Studios on Facebook from 7-8pm for pre-recorded and live video sharing some of what’s going on.
