Maybe you’ve heard about what’s been going on at Cleveland’s largest urban farm, the Ohio City Farm, for the last six years, with several different groups each farming a piece of the expansive acreage with a gorgeous view of the downtown skyline. Perhaps you’ve even heard about Refugee Response and its REAP (Refugee Empowerment Agricultural Program) program which trains individuals who were farmers in the countries they were forced to flee from how to work the land in Cleveland.
If you’d like to see the farm, learn more and help the program advance, come to REAP’s Night on the Farm 2016 benefit, taking place outdoors at the Ohio City Farm. There some of the area’s top chefs will produce a meal using produce grown by REAP farmers. There will also be performances by members of the refugee communities, evoking their native traditions, and live music throughout the evening. Admission includes an open bar as well as food. Tickets are $100.
