The Cleveland Classical Guitar Society opens its season this week as it always does — with its annual Showcase Concert, featuring some of northeast Ohio’s best classical guitarists.
On the bill this year are Duo Allant with guitarist François Fowler and flutist Kathryn Thomas Umble, both on the faculty at Youngstown State University, solo guitarist Adam Larison from Kent State University) and the Gruca White Ensemble featuring Linda White on flute and Robert Gruca on guitar, both faculty and artists-in-residence at the Music Settlement).
They’ll kick off a season of performers from Cuba, Peru, China, Brazil and Los Angeles. All the concerts take place at Plymouth Church UCC in Shaker Heights. The opening Showcase Concert is free.
