The annual FireFish Festival in downtown Lorain looks different this year. Instead of one big weekend blow-out, the organization has presented a series of one-evening events and performances for the last month.
It all culminates tonight at the James Levin FireFish Festival Finale (named after the guy who conceived and founded the event), with the big spectacular show everyone comes for: the ritual processional and burning of the giant fish. That will happen at dusk on the west bank of the Black River, north of the Bascule Bridge; afterward Sammy DeLeon y su Orquesta will perform their infectious Latin jazz.
Prior to that, there’ll be other performances, art installations, arts vendors and kids’ activities in various outdoor spaces in and around downtown Lorain’s Broadway Avenue area.
