Wallow Blissfully in Verse at the Two-Day Cleveland Poetry Festival

April is National Poetry Month, so Literary Cleveland, the Cleveland State University Poetry Center, the Case Western Reserve University Department of English and small local press GRIEVELAND are hosting are two-day blowout Poetry Festival, sponsored by Macs Backs Books and University Circle Inc.

It kicks off Friday April 21 @ 7pm at the new Literary Cleveland office on Larchmere Boulevard, with a series of readings by noted northeast Ohio poets, followed by an open mic.‍

 Then on Saturday April 22, you can wallow in poetry from 10am-6pm at CWRU’s Bellflower Hall, with writing workshops, panel discussions, the opportunity to shop onsite from Macs Backs and print poetry projects led by Zygote Press artists. Each session is limited to 25 people so you’ll want to register online. You can learn about the panel and workshop topics, the participants/leaders, and register here.

Finally, for those who haven’t had enough, the festival closes with another reading and open mic from 7-8:30pm at the Rhizome House in Cleveland Heights; participants include new Heights Arts poet laureate Siaara Freeman.
