Mouth of Babes are two women, partners in life and music, who have fun with stereotypes about lesbians.
“Tender tomboy” Ty Greenstein calls herself Girlyman, the name of the folk-rock ensemble she founded performed with during the ’00s. “Rough-and-tumble lady” Ingrid Elizabeth is Coyote Grace, the name of HER former band. They got to know each other when their previous bands toured together in 2011 and came together as a duo in 2013.
Together they sing and play a small orchestra’s worth of mostly acoustic instruments, producing music that draws on folk, blues, soul and other genres. Their tunes — and there are a lot of them — range from the celebratory to the soul-baring to the glibly humorous.
They released their debut EP Faith & Fumes late last year and are now on the road, though they’re planning to take a break come spring to get married.
They’ll be at the Conservancy Cuyahoga Valley National Park’s Happy Days Lodge. Tickets are $17, $12 for conservancy members, $5 for kids 3-12.
