What else do you need to know about Michael Stanley, who already had two solo albums under his belt when he formed the Michael Stanley Band 40 and a half years ago? They became the most popular local band Cleveland has ever known — four sold-out nights at Blossom in a single summer etc — with a loyal fan base that has never let go of those summers and that music.
Not that Stanley has rested on his laurels. Since the band broke up in 1987, Stanley has released album after album, keeping the new music coming, while playing all the hits you want to hear.
That’s what he’ll be doing at his annual spring stand at the Tangier in Akron, where he and his band the Resonators perform for four nights on two subsequent weekends.
Tickets are $45-$60; dinner and meet-and-greet packages are also available.
