Longtime Cleveland Favorite Southside Johnny Sings @HOBCleveland

Southside

Fri 3/20 @ 8PM

Southside Johnny & the Asbury Jukes have been among Cleveland’s most beloved performers since their first album was released in 1976. In fact, other than the band’s home turf on the Jersey shore, no place embraced them more warmly. Back in their late ’70s/early ’80s heyday, they headlined Blossom Music Center.

Years have flown, members have come and gone, and vocalist Southside Johnny Lyon is now the group’s only original remaining member. What hasn’t changed is the group’s bedrock horn-drive blues/R&B-based music and Lyon’s fervid vocals, which cut through the songs like a rusty knife, leaving jagged tears in their melodies.

The band will be at the House of Blues with local bluesman Austin Walkin’ Came Charanghat opening.

Tickets are $28 in advance, $30 at the door.
