Cleveland chamber music group Les Délices has appropriately designated its next program as a contemplation for Lent. Cantiques Spirituels: Music for Lent will feature up-and-coming young soprano Nola Richardson, who has performed sacred baroque music with a variety of well-established music groups and orchestras in the U.S. She’ll join Les Délices musicians Debra Nagy & Kathie Stewart on recorders and flute, Julie Andrijeski & Scott Metcalfe on violins, Cynthia Black on viola), Josh Lee on viola da gamba) and Michael Sponseller on organ.
The program will feature settings of the Lamentations of Jeremiah by French baroque composers François Couperin and Marc-Antoine Charpentier.
They’ll perform the program three times: Friday at Oberlin College’s Fairfield Chapel, Saturday at St. Peter in Cleveland, and Sunday at Plymouth Church in Shaker Heights.
The Oberlin concert is free; tickets for the other two are $25 in advance, $30 at the door.
