Clothing swaps are becoming all the rage. Not only do they offer people a chance to unload clothes that don’t fit, that don’t look as good on as they hoped or that just weren’t a good idea, and get something new in return, but they’re also eco-friendly, keeping perfectly good clothes out of landfills and letting people “buy” something new while opting out of consumerist consumption. On top of that, it feels so good to clean out your closet and get rid of those clothes you know you will never wear because no miracle will ever make you look good in yellow.
So come on down to Mahall’s for a swap event and bring your unwanted used clothing that’s still in good condition — men’s or women’s, all sizes. You might find some similar-sized friends you can swap with on a regular basis. There will also be a few tables for other items such as books, movies, music, art supplies and household items but please, only bring one small box to swap — there’s limited room.
Anything left behind will be donated to Needs Cleveland, a free community store that provides clothes and other items to those in need, located at 7710 Lorain Avenue.
It’s free to participate and Mahall’s kitchen will be open.
