Mexican-American fiddler/singer/songwriter Carrie Rodriguez is another of those terrific musicians Austin, Texas produces like a mint makes money. Originally classically trained, she spent a year at the Oberlin Conservatory before moving on to Berklee College in Boston where her violin morphed into a fiddle.

Shortly after graduation, she hooked up with her mentor, songwriter Chip Taylor (“Angel of the Morning,” “Wild Thing”) who took her out on the road and did four records with her.

Since then, she’s become a favorite in Americana circles with a series of albums such as her last studio album 2013’s Give Me All You Got and last year’s Live at the Cactus featuring her touring partner, multi-instrumentalist/singer/songwriter Luke Jacobs who brings his Minnesota-honed sensibility to match her Texas heat. Rodriguez produced his debut album, Velvet After Feel, which was just released.

The duo returns to Cleveland to perform at the Music Box Supper Club. Local acoustic duo Girl=Boy opens.

Tickets are $15 in advance, $18 at the door.
