Cleveland Freeform Ensemble @HiramiMaxim Celebrates Debut Release the Euclid Tavern

HiramMaxim

Fri 2/13 @ 9PM

Lisa Miralia is widely known in the area’s experimental scene for the ambient, noise, doom and drone music she creates using electronics and her voice. She hosts a long-running Wednesday evening program called The Mysterious Black Box on Cleveland State’s WCSB 89.3FM and she’s worked with various collaborators over the last decade.

One of her current collaborations is Hiram-Maxim for which she’s tapped Filmstrip guitarist Dave Taha, drummer John Panza of Blaka Watra and FalseFlag, and DJ Fred Gunn on vocals. The group is now set to release its self-titled debut album on Brooklyn, N.Y.-based Aqualamb Records. But it won’t be just an ordinary album. It’s coming out in the form of a 100-page book designed by local artist Ron Kretsch.

It’s officially out March 3. But Cleveland audiences can get an advance listen this week at the Euclid Tavern when the band performs there. Murderedman (in which Kretsch plays) and the newly reconstituted Goldmines open.

Admission is $5.
