Cleveland’s dean of jazz saxophone Ernie Krivda is releasing a new record. That’s always cause for celebration. But there’ll be double cause when he introduces the new release, The Best Thing for You, at a gig at Blu Jazz Akron. He’s invited his Chicago-area colleague, trumpeter Brad Goode, to perform with the band and introduce HIS new CD, Chicago Red. The instrumental chops on display will be impressive between these two jazz veterans. And they’ll have a top-notch team supporting them too, with Lafayette Carthon on piano, Jeff Halsey on bass, and Renell Gonsalves on drums.

They’ll play two sets. Admission is $10.
