The Amethyst Quartet Plays Music for Miles at Waterloo Arts

Amethyst

Sun 10/12 @ 4PM

The Amethyst String Quartet are next up in this season’s Music for Miles concerts series at Waterloo Arts Gallery.

The ensemble will play a program of folk and pop music from around the world, taking on Hungarian gypsy music, Irish favorites, Italian opera selections, and music by 20th-century American pop songwriters like the George Gershwin and Rodgers & Hammerstein, as well as Andrew Lloyd Webber. And they’ll even take requests at the end.

The concert is free and family-friendly. Refreshments such as tea and wine will be available, and Calaloo Café, connected to the gallery, will be open for food.

The series, dedicated to the late Miles Kennedy who was a pioneering investor in the Waterloo Road renaissance now taking place, is in its fourth season. It will continue with the Unconventional Trio on Sun 11/9 and return in March for its spring series.
