Sun 10/12 @ 1-9PM

Every year, the Cleveland Blues Society throws an all-day, open-to-the-public concert to choose its representatives to the International Blues Challenge in Memphis, taking place in January.

CBS’s 6th annual “On To Memphis” Challenge competition will feature 20-minute sets by each of the entrants. This year they include Taylor Lamborn, Chris Yahopcic, the Honey Brown Bandits, Dan Holt, the Elm Street Blues Band, Memphis Cradle, Jack & Jarred, and Gaetano’s Underworld Blues Band. It’s a great opportunity to sample some of the best blues northeast Ohio has to offer, all in one place at one time. And they’re hinting that some special guests might show up to liven things up as well.

Doors open at 1pm; music starts at 2. The winners will be announced at 8. Sure, it’s a long LONG day. But if you’re one of those people who just doesn’t tire, the party will move over to Cebar’s on E. 185th Street in Collinwood for the Alan Greene Band’s weekly blues jam. That starts at 9pm.

Tickets are $15 or $10 for CBS members. And since you are going to be there all day and possibly well into the evening hours, there will be food and drink available for purchase on the premises.
