Another musical series kicks off its season this week. Quire Cleveland, which has been bringing quality choral music to venues around town since 2008, opens with a program called The Flower of Flanders: Masterpieces of Renaissance Polyphony. It will feature composers such as Josquin Desprez, Guillaume DuFay, and Roland de Lassus. These composers from Flanders trained in northern choir schools, attuning their ears to the ways voices could play off each other in a piece of music. The program features an ensemble of some of the area’s most accomplished trained classical vocalists.
They’ll perform the program three times at three different venues: at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Cleveland Heights on Friday, at Mary Queen of Peace Church in the Old Brooklyn neighborhood (4423 Pearl Road ) in Saturday, and at the Historic St. Peter’s Church downtown on Sunday.
Tickets are $20 & $30; $18 for senior; $5 for full-time students
