Mike Petrello was one of many photographers who shot concerts in Cleveland back in the years (1974-1983) before bands began to get prickly about photographers and cameras in their shows. In that time he shot more than 100 bands at 200 concerts, primarily at the old Richfield Coliseum. One thing that sets him apart and makes his collection a bit different is that he shot primarily in color at a time when professional concert photographers shot mostly black & white.
He’s now put out a book called Rock Shots, featuring more than 400 photos of about 80 of the acts he shot. Hell be signing. It at Visible Voice Books Saturday June 1.
