Sat 3/6 @ 7PM
Cincinnati-based jazz musician Rusty Burge plays one of the less frequently found instruments in jazz ensembles: vibes. That alone would make him stand out. But the
Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music faculty member is part of its Percussion Group Cincinnati, which has toured throughout North American, Europe and Asia, recorded for several labels and has performed with nearly two dozen symphony orchestras. In the past he’s served as principal percussionist for the West Virginia Symphony and currently teaches percussion and jazz vibraphone and directs the CCM Steel Band.
Burge will be playing in Cleveland with a rhythm section of top musicians from the Cleveland Jazz Orchestra, including drummer Jim Rupp, bassist Aidan Plant and pianist Jackie Warren, for a show live streamed from the BOP STOP.
It’s free to stream but as usual, donations are appreciated and can be made here. Go here to stream.
