Fri 2/12-Fri 3/19
Many artists in recent years have engaged with environmental issues in their work. For artists in the Great Lakes region, that often means issues impacting water and the health of the lakes.
For Timothy Frerichs, who teaches at SUNY Fredonia in New York, issues around how human activity has created problems for Lake Erie and the other Great Lakes, has provided subject matter for 25 years. Not only is it the topic he addresses, but he tries to embody sustainability in his work, using materials he picks up along Lake Erie’s shores.
His work will be on display at the Morgan Conservatory in Navigation: Lake Erie – Great Lakes. It opens on Friday February 12 @ 6pm when he’ll do a virtual walkthrough of the show and an artist talk. Go here to sign up.
The show will be available for in-person viewing by appointment through Friday March 19.
