The Rocky River Chamber Music Society has been presenting its free concerts for more than 60 years. But it’s launching its 2020-21 season, like every other music presenter, online. The musicians will be live in RRCMS’s usual home at West Shore Unitarian Universalist Church in Rocky River, only there will be no audience there; they’ll all be tuning in at home.
The season kicks off on Monday October 12 with the northeast Ohio-based Diamond Brass Quintet featuring Amanda Bekeny and Nina Bell on trumpets, Greg Hillis on horn, David Mitchell on trombone, and J.c. Sherman on tuba.
Their program will include Victor Ewald’s Quintet No. 3 for Brass; Johann Sebastian Bach’s Prelude and Fugue in E-flat Major (St. Anne’s Fugue); Igor Stravinsky’s Suite for Brass Quintet; Anthony DiLorenzo’s Firedance; and Eric Ewazen’s Frostfire.
Tune in here or here to listen. And while the concert is free as always, they would love you to pieces if you made a donation.
