For a brief period back in the late ’90s/early 00s, the Librarians were one of the bands rocking the area’s underground/indie music scene. A side project for the members who were mainstays of that scene, the trio had an explosive, exploratory style that was more open-ended than the members’ other bands, combining aspects of space rock, jam band music and psychedelic rock. Alas, they never put out an official recording.
They’re regrouping for one night for a “Home for the Holidays” Librarians Reunion show at Mahall’s 20 Lanes. In fact, bassist Carol Schumacher and guitarist Sharon Yoo haven’t gone far. Both still live in Cleveland and still gave local stages. Drummer Barb Eckles will be making the longest trip – she now lives in Columbus.
They’ll be joined on the bill by Cypher, the Atomix, Brave Bones and the Hooligans. Admission is $5.
