Bob Frank & Friends Play Live Music for Bainbridge Swing Dance

Sat 10/7 @ 8PM

The monthly Bainbridge Swing Dances offer a variety of attractions: the opportunity to socialize with people all ages, the chance to learn some new dance steps and get some exercise while meeting new people, and to chance to hear some high-quality live music.

Taking place at the Family Life Center (16349 Chillicothe Road) in Chagrin Falls, they offer live music by some of the region’s most exciting ensembles who play high-energy, feet-moving music in a variety of danceable and listenable genres. Familis, singles and couples are all welcome, as are both experienced dancers and newbies.

Doors open at 7:30; at 8pm there’s a dance class, so if you’ve never done this before, you can learn the steps — friendly regulars are eager to help you out. Music starts at 9 and goes to 11pm. As for coming alone, don’t worry: it’s part of the program to change partners constantly so you’ll get to dance with everyone and make some new friends.

This month, dancers can enjoy music from area music scene veteran, guitarist/ vocalist/songwriter Bob Frank. He honed his chops for decades playing with Blue Lunch who specialize in ultra-danceable swing/jump/ R&B//blues/old-school rock before splitting to focus on his solo career. For the dance, he’ll be bringing along some friends from his vast network of area musicians.

Admission is $15, $10 per child or $40 per family. No registration is required. Get more information here. Learn more about Bob Frank here.
