A few months ago the Grog Shop hosted its own Great Bake Off, based on the telly show The Great British Bake Off, featuring amateur chefs presenting various sweet treats they’d baked.
It was a hit, so they’re doing it again, this time focusing on bread. Each contestant will bring a made-from-scratch loaf of bread of any type that they’ve made, cut into 24 equal slices, along with some type of spreadable topping such as a jam, dip or herbed butter, also made from scratch. The “professional” judges are Matt Fish, founder of Melt Bar and Grilled (also a local musician), and Brian Evans, co-owner of Cleveland Heights’ On the Rise Bakery. Tough room!
