A pandemic hasn’t stopped the city of Lakewood from creating some new artwork for locals to admire. Two new murals are planned as part of the Warren Road beautification project, and the first went up on May 27 at the corner of Warren and Madison Avenue, behind the Fifth Third Bank.
The print-based mural by local artist/printmaker April Bleakney, who works under the name Ape Made, is based on an encounter she had with a deer while visiting California’s Yosemite National Park, which she says symbolizes peace and serenity, something we could all use a little more of right now.
