Akron-based songwriter/vocalist/multi-instrumentalist Angie Haze is currently calling her music “Creep-pop from another time,” but she could be calling it almost anything — she’s one of northeast Ohio’s most intriguing and hard-to-describe performers. Her rhythm-heavy global folk rock is enhanced by her distinctive sense of style, and her songs vibrate with a confessional, open-hearted passion that leaves nothing on the table.
Her Angie Haze Project has taken many forms and engaged many other musicians over time and virtually every instrument, providing a huge range of sonic textures. “Eclectic” is an overused word, but it barely begins to describe what Haze does. She currently performs with four other outstanding musicians who offer her expert support, but she’s the type of performer who naturally attracts all eyes in the room.
She’ll be performing at Akron’s Rialto Theatre with prolific Akron hip-hop artist Floco Torres. And she’s promising some kind of announcement abut a future project.
