Miami’s Nu Deco Orchestra Takes New Approach to Pop & Classical in Akron Concert

Wed 5/4 @ 7:30PM

The Miami, Florida-based Nu Deco Ensemble is an unusual musical group, a sort of chamber pops orchestra with a diversity of missions, including performing new music by contemporary composers, rearranging standards from the classical repertoire, reimagining modern pop tunes by artists such as Daft Punk and Outkast, and collaborating with dancers, composers, choreographers & other musicians such as Macy Gray, Ben Folds and Stephen Marley.

The group is the next guest of Akron’s Tuesday Musical Association where they’ll play music by Queen Daft Punk, Bill Withers and distinctive reworkings of Bach and Bizet in concert at the University of Akron’s EJ Thomas Hall.
