Wed 2/3 @ noon
The Cleveland Museum of Art links up with another museum in town for the next edition of its Desktop Dialogue series, which takes place on your computer the first and third Wednesday of each month at noon.
This month CMA educator Andrew Cappetta hosts the Rock Hall’s new vice president of curatorial affairs and chief curator Nwaka Onwusa to talk about “The Politics of Sound” — how musicians and visual artists have used their word to promote racial and social justice. Onwusa was the organizer of the current Rock Hall exhibit, It’s Been Said All Along: Voices of Rage, Hope, and Empowerment, which she and the Rock Hall staff put together quickly in reaction to the protests growing out of the killing of George Floyd. It shows how musicians have long used their art to respond to racism, oppression and inequality.
Tune in here to hear the conversation.
