Mulberry Creek Herb Farm, the family-owned organic herb farm in Huron, marks the end of the summer growing season with its annul herb fair that last weekend in July. Each year, it has a different theme and this year’s was New Orleans. The display gardens not only featured the vegetable and herb ingredients for New Orleans specialties, but placards with recipes. Food demonstrations are part of the weekend as culinary instructor Beth Funk showed how to make bananas foster and other special desserts and gave the audience a chance to taste. There were vendors, a food truck, beer, ice cream from Mitchell’s and music by Toledo’s Chefs of Dixieland.
