Night Terrors Pushes Musical Boundaries at the BOP STOP

Wed 2/2 @ 8PM

Guitarist Tim Mirth and percussionist Paul Stranahan are two of Cleveland’s most adventurous musicians, both of whom have played in numerous projects in a variety of genres. Together as Night Terrors, they offer open-ended compositions with lots of space for the improvisational explorations that fuel their music.

They’re bringing a brand-new set of music to the BOP STOP — although in truth, this isn’t a duo that ever plays things the same way twice. But for this show, Mirth will be playing guitar and viola, while Stranahan will bring his usual gongs and singing bowls, along with a new aluminum-based pitched percussion instrument called the Aluphone for this all-acoustic set.

They’ll also have on hand their latest double CD album, Hear Again, which features plenty of electronics, guitars, drums, gongs, singing bowls and viola, and on which they’re also joined by guitarist Chris Bober, a frequent collaborator.

Tickets are $10 for adults $5 for students. It’ll also be livestreamed on the BOP STOP’s Facebook page where you can listen for free, although donations can be made here.
