CPT’s Dark Room Open Mic Is Back Live

Tue 7/13 & Tue 7/27 @ 7PM

Dark Room Zoom is no more! Cleveland Public Theatre’s long-running monthly open mic series, The Dark Room, says farewell to virtual events and returns to live, in-person this month. Instead of Zoom, it’ll take place in the tent next to the Church at CPT twice during July.

What it’s about is a forum for writers to hear their new material aired publicly, whether they write plays, fiction, essays or poetry, so they get feedback that will help them develop their work. Readers are whatever actors show up and sign up on a given evening.

Writers and actors can begin signing up at 6:30pm. Writers should bring up to ten pages of work and sign-ups will be first-come/first-served until the limited number of slots is filled. Actors will be cast on the spot and must get there by 6:45 to take part. Readings start at 7pm.

A $5 donation would be welcome but isn’t required. If you have any questions, email herman.mindy@gmail.com.
